From April, guests can see approximately 3000 azaleas, and from June, around 1500 hydrangeas.
This temple was built in Taisho 12 (1923) in order to appease the spirits of the Hata family and their vassals. A large stone Buddha is carved 10 meters high into the rock, and is thought to be one of the greatest Buddha carvings in Japan. There is a walking path that features 88 stone statues, modeled after the sacred 88 temple pilgrimage in Shikoku.
